After yesterday’s decision to dissect and distort the Affordable Care Act it’s clear that advocacy is going to become a way of life. I think we are all disheartened and exhausted but there’s strength in solidarity. Let’s promise to take care of one another and fight extra hard for those who are being systematically silenced, disempowered, and victimized. The system is broken but we are not. We can only do this if we do it together. I am a pre-existing condition but I am also purposeful and I’m working hard to stay hopeful.

I have never felt more frightened and more powerful in my entire life — and that’s because I am not alone.
