Lost in Translation

If you were fluent in my body

You’d never get lost in my constellations of freckles

You’d never ask about the scars cutting silver lines across my thighs

You’d never forget your promises on my wet lips

If you were fluent in my body

You’d never mistake pain in my eyes for weakness

You’d never tug on my earlobe without leaving me a love song

You’d never sink your teeth into my shoulder without me begging for it

If you were fluent in my body

You’d trace my stretch marks with your fingertips

You’d embrace the softness of my belly

You’d kiss the sagging nature of my skin

If you were fluent in my body

You’d find your hands curled into my hips

You’d find your chin rests perfectly on my forehead

You’d find your pelvis aligns with mine

If you were fluent in my body

You’d never be afraid to love me

You’d never worry about losing me

You’d never let me go
