I’m in a brightly colored Mexican restaurant holding my book that has birthday bows on it and I am smiling from ear to ear

Today I turned 35!

I don’t really have any birthday traditions — well, I try to sleep as late as possible and eat as much sugar as possible but that’s kind of an every day thing — so instead I must channel the bad ass witchy-ness of the Broad City gals and borrow a beautiful way to celebrate the passing of a year (it’s in the St. Mark’s episode).

“What have you done this past year that you’re proud of?”

I’m becoming a better traveler! Less panic attacks on airplanes and more adventurous with food
I’ve perfected the body roll but I can only do it when no one’s watching
And I’ve published my first book!!

“What are you gonna do this upcoming year?”

Learn sign language
Buy quality bras
And hustle the shit out of my first book!!

But — to be honest — I think my greatest achievement thus far is that I’m learning how to believe in myself. I can do WAY more things than I think I can! This year I’m going to keep being a boss bitch 💜

Happy 35th birthday to me!

And happy birthday Instability in Six Colors! Welcome to the world!
